TV or DSL: Not working after electric goes out
- First reboot the router (if you have one) by unplugging the power cord
- Reboot the computer
- If still not working, reboot the modem or TV box
- Once the modem status light is on, or the TV has a picture, reboot the router (if you have one)
- Reboot the computer
Phone: No dial tone, noise, etc.
- If you have more than one phone, unplug all but one phone (do not choose a cordless phone). Also unplug fax machines, answering machines, computers using dial-up Internet, or any other device connected to a phone line.
- Wait 30 seconds then check that phone.
- Continue checking each phone individually until all phones have been checked.
- If this remedies the problem, there is a problem with a phone, answering machine, fax machine, other device, or phone jack
- If the problem still exists, go to the station interface and plug in a phone.
- If this fixes the problem, there is a problem with your inside line, phone jacks, phones, or other devices.
- If the problem persists, call Hickory Telephone Company.
